Trend: One shoulder

Looks like one of the biggest trends for 2009 is everywhere now. The one shoulder/asymmetric line has hit everywhere. The prom style dress seems to be making way for a more tailored cocktail style which I'm loving although I have to say I do love the dramatic nipped waist and pouffy skirt.

I managed to pick up a bargain at my usual haunt ASOS for my birthday, and in the fortnight of dresses, this one was my favourite. A black dress with black organza hearts each with white stitching round each one.

I must say there is a lot out there at the moment with this style and some may not suit all body shapes as I have square shoulders the one shoulder that cuts across the chest isn't as flattering as the one shoulder style, so watch out for that!

As for my fabulous fortnight of dresses, I did also wear a backless high bustle backed prom dress; high and short in a red and black organza teamed with my red shoes from The Flyest, and a beautiful light blue dress from Zara complete with hot pink accessories. 

Go and seek the wonder that is the one shoulder.

So during my usual daily/weekly ASOS  search, I again came across (well when I say came across, I clicked the bookmark) the page with the Sass and Bide "Black rats" leggings which I've been holding out on buying for weeks and weeks. Was trying to warrant paying that much money for them, then was looking around to see if I could find a good enough copy (ghetto hood rat style) as I decided that £90 for something I'd only wear a couple times - working out at around £45 a wear - was a little extravagant even by my standards. 

(The Jean Paul Gaultier dress I wore once for my 18th comes to mind)

So anyway, had a chat regarding it to Cat and she mentioned that Topshop has the wetlook leggins in and whispered the price to me. All thoughts of the ruched leggings went out the window at that point, and the World went into slow motion for a few minutes. Needless to say the next opportunity I got I hot-footed it down to Oxford Circus to get them.

After staring at myself in the changing room for 20 minutes (lol) I finally took them off and bought them.

I love em and for all of you that have an inner dominatrix (that word has been thrown around a fair few times) I think u need to join the revolution and get a pair. Black though. Have seen people in the red and it just reminds me of Britney Spears a la "Oops I did it again" gone wrong. Don't do it to yourselves, bitches.

When u do, team them with your highest heels that match your top, nothing too fancy to take away from the leggings. Go plain on the accessories also.
